Dapper Style at Menswear Fashion Week New York

New York can surprisingly be one of the most experimental places when it comes to style. Although city dwellers like to power dress to the nines when it comes to work and professionalism, they also know how to have a lot of fun with it. Blazers are getting longer, stretching down to slightly above-the-knee and getting decked out in all kinds of patterns and colors — pastel rainbow stripes, velvet paisleys and even denim (on denim, of course).

Although black-on-black will always be a classic fallback, the idea is always being rethought and reconstructed, with unique cut-outs and layering of different materials. This season, we're seeing it paired with crisp reds and various shades of dark blues. Loose, flowing silhouettes are popular on women (think shirt dresses and billowy floral culottes), while smart, fitted layers with a slightly oversized blazer are growing with popularity amongst the men.
